Introduction

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an integral part of many exciting research domains, to develop intelligent applications, such as deep learning, image processing, speech recognition, semantic web, data science, robotics, recommendation systems, machine translation, and 3D sensing in consumer gaming. The AIRL lab will bring all of these domains together providing a structure for industry and academic to engage effectively. The focus of AIRL is on application oriented basic research. The aim is to develop product functions, prototypes and patentable solutions in the domain of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
